Catholic Pilgrimage 08

Katie and I will be making a pilgrimage to a place we intended to go on our Honeymoon, and a place that I intended to go with a group of friends back in 2005. That place is Vatican City. We will arrive there on October 17, which is Day 22 of our pilgrimage. While we're on that side of the world, we will take the opportunity to visit some of the holiest places in existence.

This trip is through Catholic Answers, a group whose mission is to teach everyone about the Catholic faith. I became familiar with them a couple years ago when I started downloading their podcast of their daily call-in show Catholic Answers Live!. Since that time, I've learned so much about the faith and now it is time to experience where it all came from.

The trip begins by flying to New York. Whereas the best part of New York will be visiting with friends from college, Katie has never been to New York so everything of the city will be new for her. We fly from New York directly to Athens, Greece where we will stay at a hotel near some of the main sites and become accustomed to the time change. The main part of the trip is 14 days on a cruise ship that makes stops at various ports within the Mediterranean Sea. After the cruise, we will spend a week in Rome attempting to absorb as much as possible. From Rome, we head to Louisville to spend time with friends and family for a week, which includes the notable event of Halloween at the Harper household.

Check back often while we are over there because we intend on posting pictures and stories!
